Super Smash Bros. Saturdays

Super Smash Bros. tournaments are here! Every other Saturday starting March 14th, come on out to Clash to compete for cash prizes in our Super Smash Bros. Saturdays Tournaments. Just $10 to enter. The more people to play, the bigger the prize—so grab your friends and come to Clash to see who’s best.

Tournaments are held every other Saturday starting March 14th at 6pm. Sign-ups start at 4pm, so you can come early and get some practice time in. Tournament platform will be Nintendo Switch. Permitted controllers include GameCube controller (you can bring your own—Clash has adapters), joy con controller, Switch pro controller (you can bring your own).

Tournament will be bracket style, single elimination.

Order of Tournament Events

  1. Both players will participate in a round of rock/paper/scissors to determine striking order for stages
  2. Beginning with the winner, each player will eliminate one of the starter stages until there is one stage remaining.
  3. Both players will pick their characters
  4. Play Match 1.
  5. Match 2+: the winner will strike 2 stages from the list, and the loser will pick a stage from those remaining.
  6. Beginning with the winner, each player will pick their character for the next match.
  7. Play the next match
  8. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until 2/3 or 3/5 matches has been won by either player.

  • Stage AgreementPlayers may agree to choose any legal stages, as an alternative to normal rules.
  • Pausing: If pausing is not turned off, players may pause while either player remains on their own respawn platform.
  • Self-Destruct Moves: In the event of a self-destruct move that ends a game, the winner is determined by the results screen.
  • Sudden DeathIn the case of a sudden death match, the winner is whoever has more stock or less percentage (if stock is tied). If there is a percentage tie or there is a tie-on stock, a one-stock tiebreaker will be played with a 3-minute time limit. Sudden Death results are not valid. This process is repeated until a winner is determined.
  • Stage Selection for Wins: A player cannot pick a stage that they previously won
  • Only the use of Venue approved equipment is allowed.
  • Platform: Nintendo Switch
  • Tournament will be starting at 6:00pm.
  • We will be starting the sign in process at 4:00 pm.
  • Participants are required to sign in by 5:45pm at the latest.
  • Matches may begin early if both players in a beginning match are signed in.

Toxic behavior is prohibited and could cost forfeiture of your place in the tournament.  Toxic behavior includes:

  • Abuse of venue equipment
  • Excessive Trash talking
  • Screaming

Clash policies and guidelines to be followed while on property:

  • Guest must follow all posted and verbal instructions provided by Class staff.
  • Do not use profanity or engage in unsafe, illegal, or offensive behavior.
  • Clash staff reserve the right to temporarily close for the purposes of maintenance or private events without prior notice or any compensation.
  • Guests should not leave any valuables or personal belongings unattended. Clash is not responsible or liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged property.
  • Smoking or vaping is not permitted in the store.
  • No outside food or beverage allowed in store.
  • No pets allowed except for service animals.
  • No firearms or weapons permitted on Clash property.
  • Respectful attire must always be worn, and Clash staff reserve the right to refuse service or expel guests with unacceptable attire.
  • Clash staff reserve the right to eject any guest that in our opinion, may pose a risk to the safety of other guests and/or affect their enjoyment within Clash property.
  • All guests entering Clash property are subject to the policies and guidelines as set forth by Clash staff.
  • No soliciting
  • Children under the age of 13 must always be accompanied by a legal guardian or adult while on Clash property.
  • Additional revisions can be made upon the policies and procedures without any notice
